WhatsApp has always been used for sharing photos and images, however, as photography lovers know well, the proposed compression mode does not allow users to send photos in their original quality.
But thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta update for Android to version 2.23.2.11, it has been discovered that the developers are finally working on a new feature that will allow users to submit photos in their original quality.
The topic had already been addressed in a beta dating back to 2021, but on that occasion the possibility was given to choose a quality configuration for the photos sent between “automatic”, “best quality” and “data saving “. Unfortunately, the higher quality configuration didn’t allow users to send photos in their original format, as they were just less compressed. Now things are about to change, as evidenced by the screenshot of WAbetainfo.
Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta update for Android 2.23.2.11, it has been discovered that the developers are finally working on a new feature that will allow users to submit photos in their original quality. As can be seen in the screenshot, WhatsApp plans to integrate a new setting icon within the header of the paint tool: this will allow users to configure the quality of any photo.
We believe that this feature will be particularly appreciated and could somehow give a new push to the messaging service, since the inability to send the photo in original quality has always been an Achilles heel of this service. The feature is under development and is expected to be released in a future app update. As always, we’ll post a supplemental article when we have more details to share on the matter.
We remind you in closing that just recently voice notes were tested as status updates, once again identified within an Android beta.
