In the past few hours we have learned that the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti could have a TGP of 160Wlower than the 220W indicated by previous rumors.

The leaker who spread the rumor, the now well-known Kopite7kimi, is generally quite accurate and in the hours following that post he returned to talk about the new card saying that its performance should be similar to the RTX 3070 (itself close to the previous RTX 2080 Ti). To this, of course, will be added DLSS 3, an exclusive technology of the GeForce RTX 4000 generation.

And this is where perhaps the enthusiasts will complain, hoping for something more, a product closer to the RTX 3080. The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti is expected to be the first GPU-based desktop solution AD106: according to rumors it should make available 4352 active CUDA cores (out of 4608 of the whole chip) e 8GB of GDDR6 memory (not GDDR6X like the other proposals) at 18 Gbps. The bus should be at 128 bits.

The GeForce RTX 3070, based on the “old” Ampere architecture, features 5888 CUDA Cores, 8 GB of 14 Gbps GDDR6 memory on 256-bit bus and a 220W TGP. Available from the last quarter of 2020, that solution was announced with a price “starting from 519 euros”, but that price list on the market has never been concretely revealed (apart from the NVIDIA shop): the RTX 3070 remains much more expensive.

From China, precisely on the site MyDriverstalk about a price around $500 for the new RTX 4060 Ti, while the RTX 3060 Ti was announced at 399 dollars – although it too is much more expensive than the starting list of 430 euros indicated for Italy at the launch by NVIDIA. In any case, for three years now, looking at list prices has been a mere exercise in style, given that the information is promptly disregarded by the real market.

As for the debut period, there is no concrete or precise information at the moment, but the feeling is that the new model will arrive – together with the RTX 4070 but probably in different periods – within the first half of the year.
