Among those services that work in an exemplary manner on the Apple ecosystem there is certainly also Where it is, known above all Find My. It’s about the software and the ecosystem that allows you to identify the company’s products whether they ended up in the fold of the sofa or stolen and taken away from us.
Also Google has a similar service (in Italian it is called Find Device) but this has an important limitation: the device you are looking for must be connected via Bluetooth to the phone or connected to the network. Not ideal especially if we are looking for a lost or stolen device outside the home. Finally, the company is updating its system, with the intention of creating an ecosystem of devices that, thanks to proximity, can load the position of a “wanted” device if it is in its vicinity.
The novelty is that someone is receiving a “Store my location” selector in their Find Device menu, which can be translated as “Save location”.
This allows the last known position of the device to be saved on the servers and therefore to be shown to anyone looking for it even if it is no longer connected to the network.
