January 28th falls International Lego Dayand what better way to pay homage to the famous bricks than to choose the more interesting Lego sets released in the last few months? In the gallery that follows we range from boxes dedicated to art to those for animals, without forgetting the most popular animated or film series: the only criterion we have adopted in choosing is that they are products that have recently been released. For those who are looking for something iconic and timeless, we have also rounded up the most spectacular Lego sets of recent years.
International Lego Day
They were, to be precise, the 1:58 pm on this same day in 1958 when the inventor of Lego Godtfred Kirk Christiansen filed a request for registration of the documentation related to the assemblable bricks with the Danish Directorate for Patents and Trademarks. It was one of the most important steps in a glorious and luminous history that rapidly expanded to other countries too, starting from the Nordic ones such as Norway (March 12, 1958) and Sweden (March 22, 1958), assaulting the neighbors of Germany (April 10, 1958 ) and Holland (April 14, 1958) to then also land in France, Belgium, Switzerland and also with us in Italy. Thus, January 28 has become the day on which International Lego Day is celebrated, even though the company of the same name is now more than 100 years old: the foundation dates back to 1916, when Godtfred’s father, Ole, opened his carpentry shop in Billund, Denmark.
The Lego sets not to be missed in recent months
We have chosen 20 boxes, creating a selection that is as varied as possible according to various heterogeneous parameters. First of all the price, since starting from even less than 10 euros for the smallest sets up to over 200 euros for the most impressive boxes in terms of pieces and final dimensions of the construction. All the boxes are available for purchase right now and it is often possible to choose whether to order them on the official Store or even on Amazon with a possible discount to grab as soon as possible.
We then fished by various most popular lines like the Disney ones or Star Wars up to the most recent ones, for example dedicated to the blockbuster Avatar: The Way of Water or to video games like Super Mario or Minecraft, but there are more particular boxes in the Ideas range and also options in the evergreen City line, much appreciated by the little ones. Here is our selection.
