So far OnePlus has always been among the first manufacturers to offer new versions of Android for its devices, at least in version beta. At the end of last year we saw the manufacturer release the stable version of Android 13 for the OnePlus 9 family. something went wrong.

Indeed, after the first rollout, which took place in November, OnePlus has released new incremental updates of Android 13. The latest included the patches security updates updated to January. Sadly for those who installed it it also included a bug that causes the soft brick for OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro.

By soft brick we mean the impossibility to start the smartphone correctly.

The “soft” prefix indicates a (usually) solvable block. After the latest OxygenOS update for OnePlus 9, several users have reported the inability to start their devices correctly, thus remaining with a device lockeda brick (which in English translates “brick“) from the desk.

The firmware version that includes the bug just described corresponds to the build F.19. At the moment it is still unclear what exactly causes the inability to boot correctly. Certainly also OnePlus he is aware of itto the point that withdrew the update. Unfortunately this did not prevent the distribution of the update itself to some unfortunate people who received it before the company withdrew it. If you were among them, we strongly suggest you don’t install it.

It therefore seems to us that something has gone wrong in the update released by OnePlus and this is strange because it is not a beta but a stable version of the operating system. To have updated details in real time, if you are among those who have installed the update and have the device in soft brick, we suggest you refer to the official thread dedicated on the OnePlus forum.
