There are at least two houses which, to date, they should dominate the world of electric cars: Renault and Nissan.

The two brands, which recently renewed alliance vows, have launched on the market, approx ten years agotwo electric cars become icons of the new sustainable mobility: Renault Zoe and Nissan Leaf.

The Zoe has retired, while the Leaf has undergone a total restyling and is now joined by the Aryia model, the 100% SUV from the Japanese company which in about a month – in an ad hoc version – will perform an extreme feat, both for electric and traditional mobility.

Despite the successes, the two manufacturers have not fully embraced the development of battery-powered cars, advancing very slowly in that direction.

Focusing on Nissan, the Japanese company had announced its strategy in 2021 “Ambition 2030” which provided, against an investment of 17 billion dollarsto bring to the global market at least 15 fully electric models by 2030.

To date the only one of the four concepts revealed, Chill-Out, Surf-Out, Hang-Out and Max-Outto appear next to arrival is the Max-Out convertible modelunveiled today, in preview, to the magazine Electrek.

Officially the car will debut during the event – lasting one month, from February 4th to March 1st – “Nissan Futures” to be held at the Nissan headquarters in Yokohama, Japan.

Meanwhile, what has been revealed around the new model, is that it is a two-seater convertibledesigned for “provide a liberating sense of openness, while offering an enhanced and dynamic driving experience. The Max-Out showcases Nissan’s innovation in developing a diverse range of advanced and amazing vehicles, with a clear vision of how they can bring benefits to both individuals and society”.

The presentation of this concept, combined with the communication of the duration of the event, has done raise more than one eyebrowconsidering that the 2030 deadline is missing only seven years.

To keep its promise Nissan would have to churn out two electric models a yearan undertaking whose success seems rather difficult.
