Acer Swift X 14 is the compact notebook for the creator

On the occasion of the 2023 edition of CES in Las Vegas Acer announced several new products under the category of notebook solutions. Among these we point out SwiftX14a notebook that will hit the market in Italy in April at a price of €1,499: we had a pre-production sample available in the editorial office for an initial impression of use.

It is a classic clamshell with the particularity of use an Intel Core i7-13700H processor with hybrid architecture and TDP of 45 Watts and one NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 video card able to offer a performance boost with 3D applications and games. All of this is paired with one 14-inch diagonal screen which goes to one resolution of 2,880×1,800 pixelsfor a ratio of 16.10 between the sides.

The screen is one of the strengths of this notebook: the 14-inch diagonal with 16:10 ratio between sides allows you to maximize personal productivity, while the refresh that goes up to 120Hz allows you to ensure more stable images with 3D applications. As reported, we had a pre-production sample of this notebook available in the editorial staff, waiting to be able to try one of the final versions intended for sale. The overall construction is very solidbased on a 17.9 mm thick aluminum chassis with weighing just over 1.5 kg which allow easy portability in any environment

The endowment of communication ports is very rich, with one USB Type-A and a Micro-SD memory card reader on the top right that combine with a second USB Type-A port, two USB Type-C, an HDMI video connector and a headphone jack mounted on the left side. Difficult to be able to ask for more in terms of connections with peripherals external to a notebook with a 14-inch screen.

The keyboard and touchpad usage feedback is good: The keys have a slightly contrasty medium-long travel, with the top-right mounted power key incorporating a fingerprint sensor. The touchpad has medium-large dimensions, not extreme as seen in some models, offering good feedback both with lower clicks and with the various gestures.

Operation of the notebook is quiet overall, especially when used for typical personal productivity tasks. the computing power made available by the Intel Core i7 CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU is such as to ensure a prompt response to commands with almost all applications.
