Will be Tecno Phantom V Fold the new name to keep an eye on the next Mobile World Congress 2023 of Barcelona: directly from the brand of the Chinese company Tecno Mobile, in fact, one will debut booklet folding smartphone who will compete with the hitherto few exponents of the world of foldable. From next February 28 it will be possible to know everything about the incoming model, for the moment, however, there are already numerous advances that have unveiled the design and have revealed part of the technical data sheet of a smartphone that could carve out a space for itself in the market, especially if the price will be as competitive as it gets.
Closer to the design approach of the locomotive of the segment or Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 rather than its most accredited rivals such as Vivo X Fold + or Oppo Find N, Tecno Phantom V focuses on important dimensions also of the external display which will be 6.2 inches and high quality (amoled panel) while the internal one with booklet opening and closing will be 7.6 inches (always amoled and, apparently, with a frequency of up to 120 Hz). The thickness will not be very narrow, the previews speak of 16 millimeters when closed, almost more than two overlapping traditional smartphones, while the triple rear camera with round housing should include a 64-megapixel main sensor, an ultra-wide angle and a telephoto lens. The audio compartment seems to be another of the strong points, with a double quality speaker.
Above is a first hands-on video of what it looks like a non-definitive prototype, the final version should be slimmer and with less evident creases on the internal display. We already know the chip that will move the system or Mediatek Dimensity 9000+ with 5G support. Tecno Phantom has interesting models in its catalog such as the X2 with its world first of the retractable lens with the main sensor and a double round edge (it costs 900 euros for now only in some Asian countries).
