Among the many updates that have arrived on Android Auto over the past few months, the most interesting is without a doubt Coolwalk: it is essentially a new graphical interface for the Google operating system that is better suited to car screens and which allows you to divide the display into “segments” to use multiple applications at the same time.

The story of Coolwalk however, it is quite troubled: the update was announced for the first time at the end of last summerbut to get a taste of the new graphical interface it was necessary to wait until December 2022when Google released, only for a small number of users betathe update in question.

During CES 2023, Google took the opportunity to declare that Coolwalk would arrive soon for all Android Auto users, without however specifying the release times. TO end of Januarythen the Android Auto 8.7 update arrived, but not even a shadow of Coolwalk.

To date, the percentage of users who have received the coveted graphical interface for Android Auto is really very low: on the subreddit dedicated to Android Auto there are many posts from people who still fail to activate Coolwalk despite the update to Android Auto 8.7.

We will therefore still have to wait for the rollout of Coolwalk: Google is still releasing theserver side update (very slowly) and therefore the end user does not have to carry out any particular operation. In the meantime, we remind you that other small innovations have recently been discovered in Coolwalk: we talked about it here.
