FRITZ!Box 5690 XGS up to 10 Gbps and the others: all AVM products at MWC 2023

AVM, the company that owns the FRITZ! brand, will present during the Mobile World Congress 2023 in Barcelona, ​​from 27 February to 2 March, the new generation of connection products: fiber and DSL in a single FRITZ!Box, 10 gigabit/s with fiber, fast Internet with 5G, Wi-Fi 7 with 6 GHz tri-band Mesh, as well as new features for the Smart Home thanks to DECT standards ULE, Zigbee and Matter. Here they are.

The new FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro combine for the first time fiber optic and DSL in one device for fast internet access and with adequate flexibility for those areas where optical fiber is not yet present. The new FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro also includes the 6 GHz tri-band Wi-Fi network, the new third frequency band, and also supports the next generation Wi-Fi 7 which promises improvements in terms of latency, speed and volume of production.

The FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro includes further features for the smart home: In addition to DECT ULE, it also features the Zigbee wireless standard and is Matter-ready. Of 5690 there is also the XGS variantFRITZ!Box fiber optic can reach speeds up to 10Gbps thanks to the XGS-PON standard. It includes Wi-Fi 7 and Wi-Fi 6, a 10 gigabit WAN/LAN port and the full range of FRITZ! for telephony, smart home and networking. Besides DECT ULE, it also supports Zigbee and Matter.

News also for those who prefer a solution that guarantees maximum flexibility of use, which can be useful both where there is a fixed connection to the network and where there isn’t. With the FRITZ!Box 6860 5G it is possible to connect via 5G mobile networks, to infrastructures that “cannot stand on their own” (NSA) or are already perfectly autonomous (SA). It also supports LTE to reach data rates up to 1.3 Gbps.

There is Wi-Fi Mesh with Wi-Fi 6 standard, which is able to distribute data wirelessly throughout the house. Thanks to the new design of reduced dimensions and the connection for thepower supply via Power over Ethernet, the FRITZ!Box 6860 5G can be placed anywhere in the house, even on a wall.
