During its Summit held in Bad Homburg, headquarters of the German branch of the Korean giant, Samsung presented its new range of products, with new details focused on the European market, after the worldwide presentation in the setting of CES in Las Vegas.
Samsung SmartThings: the increasingly connected home
The presentation of Benjamin Brown, Samsung Europe Chief Marketing Officerbeen focused a lot on SmartThings and how the management hub for all connected Samsung devices has grown over the years in terms of compatible brands and devices and how by the end of 2023 all devices marketed by Samsung will be equipped with Wi-Fi and therefore compatible with the unified management of the smart home.
Among the most particular products that we have seen live there is certainly the oven with camera and artificial intelligence which is able to monitor the cooking status for us and warn us, for example, if we are about to burn the biscuits.
However, a large part of the exhibition was dedicated to audio-video products, in particular the televisions of the new ranges arriving on the market.
New Neo QLED TVs: up to 4,000 cd/m2
The new top of the Samsung range made a fine show QN900C 8K NeoQLEDcapable (from stated specifications) of reaching ben 4,000 nits of peak luminancewith an even more precise management of the Mini LED backlighting, a greater number of zones (practically double up compared to last year) and therefore deeper blacks and significantly reduced blooming effect. A special demo, which we were unable to photograph, compared it with products from the competition and from Samsung itself (in both cases the 2022 range) underlining the improvements, which seem evident to the eye, but which – of course -, as good San Tommaso, we would like to get hands-on with an in-depth review over the course of the year.
The Neo QLED family consists of the 8K QN900C, QN800C, QN700C and 4K Ultra HD QN95C, QN90C and QN85C series. Samsung Italy has not yet disclosed the official prices for our market, but according to what we have seen in other countries, prices should range from 1,299 Euros for the smallest of the family (QN90C in the 43-inch cut), up to 10.999 Euros of the top of the range QN900C 8K 85-inch.
QD-OLED TVs get bigger with the 77-inch model
The protagonist of one of the demos is also one of the most eagerly awaited pieces on the market, the new one S95C 77-inch OLED TV, a cut that adds to the two (55 and 65 inches) of the debut year (2022). Samsung has not only enlarged the dimensions, but the technicians have also worked on the performance of the QD-OLED panel, better squeezing its characteristics with greater luminance and color accuracy. Still referring to prices in other European countries, the new top of the 77-inch QD-OLED range should settle on 4,799 euros.
Also on display are the matte surface coating (Matte) already introduced last year, but which in addition to The Frame series will also land on the other televisions of the Lifestyle series The Serif and The Sero.
During the technical sessions, the issue of energy saving requirements and the new levels that will be in force from the end of March 2023, but we will dedicate a news only to this theme in the next few days.
