On Android, it will soon be possible to transfer eSIMs between devices

In recent years we have witnessed the birth of eSIM: these are virtual SIM cards that replace physical cards and that bring a series of advantages, including the possibility of activating a new SIM simply by pointing a QR codewithout therefore going to a store to buy the card (we have talked about all the advantages in full in this article).

eSIMs are being supported by more and more devices, either iOS That androidbut unfortunately there is not yet a unique way for all operators that allows you to transfer the eSIM to another device. Google however, it has a solution, which will arrive on Android smartphones by the end of this year.

BigG has in fact announced that losing will be possible transfer your eSIM to another smartphone or smartwatch quickly and easily: the company has partnered with GSM extensionan organization representing the interests of mobile network operators around the world, and the first operator to support this method will be German Deutsche Telekom.

We still don’t know exactly when this useful feature will be available: Google has limited itself to declaring that it will arrive “before the end of the year”and therefore it is likely that it will be released together with Android 14the next version of Google’s operating system.
