Spotify updates the application interface, specifically one of the main components present during the reproduction of a content. The Heart which appears in playlists, albums, podcasts and to the right of the title, above the progress bar, it’s about to become a “plus”. It won’t be a change for its own sake, the new button won’t just transfer the content to the library as happens with the heart.
By pressing it, Spotify explains that it recently celebrated 10 years in Italy, it will be possible to save and at the same time choose the destination of the song, playlist or podcast. “It’s the latest achievement of the work we do to create a more intuitive app use experienceso you have easier ways to interact with the music and podcasts you love”explains the streaming service.
The new key + so it is multifunctional:
- with just one touch: classic saving a song or a podcast episode; pressing it, the + symbol turns into a green check mark
- with another touch, the second: you can intervene on the destination of the content, so for example to insert it directly in more than one playlist
- it allows to easily add an entire album to the library, or a playlist or an audiobook; here too, once successfully saved, the + becomes a green tick.
Spotify believes the new system will make life easier for users. The belief is supported by some surveys which have suggested to the developers how the new method has saved users time, in addition to greater comfort which comes from the ability to add content to more than one playlist in one step.
In short, the + does everything the previous heart-shaped key did and something more. The news is already being distributed to both Android and iOS users, to complete the “tour” it will take a couple of weeks. We still don’t have the news.
