“When such care, attention to detail and quality of materials were so carefully considered at the time of construction in 1982, it was important for me to respect the original intentions when we integrated our studio into the building. We deliberately showcase the structure and original details, respecting the same fabric that gives it its unique character”Missoni said, about the new Polestar space.

According to Missoni, the analogies between architecture and the automotive industry are numerous:

“Redesigning a building has similarities to designing a car. There are creative opportunities to explore, but also technical pain points that determine the outcome. In the Polestar 3, for example, aerodynamics were key to shaping the SUV for the electric age. The overall design, with its powerful, sweeping stance and low, sweeping roofline, is introduced by the SmartZone and front aero wing. Signifying the transition from “breathing to seeing” with the As the age of electrification intensified, Polestar 3 also presented designers with a challenge: to convey a sense of intelligence.”

The designer went on to illustrate the meeting point between form and function:
