Xiaomi 13 Pro review
Xiaomi also launches its smartphone in Italy premium, the new benchmark device for the company for our market. A smartphone that wants to aim very high.
Packaging

The big pack of Xiaomi 13 Pro it contains a 120W power supply, a USB-C cable (specific to support this charging speed) and also a highly appreciated transparent silicone cover, which protects it from falls.
Construction and Ergonomics

Xiaomi 13 Pro continues on the path of the ceramic body, a beautiful solution that allows the smartphone to remain as pristine as the first day even after a long time, thanks to its characteristic of resisting scratches very well. It does hold fingerprints a bit but cleans easily. The design is clean and modern, even if the camera block seen sideways betrays its considerable thickness. In all, the smartphone is 8.4 millimeters thick, but it is above all the weight of 210 grams which will be noticed during use. It’s also a bit slippery. Good though for waterproofing thanks to the IP68 standards.

This Xiaomi 13 Pro it’s on a smartphone premium on many points of view. Starting from the 4-nanometer Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor up to 3.2 GHz, passing through the Adrneo 740 GPU and above all the 12 GB of RAM and the 256 GB of UFS 4.0 internal memory. Very fast. Excellent connectivity: WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, dual SIM support and infrared emitter. Unfortunately, there is no support for video output via USB-C and that for virtual SIMs. The stereo sound is very good and we also have support for Dolby Atmos. The fingerprint reader is inside the display and is fast and accurate.
The performance offered by this processor then we have already learned about them on competitors. This Snapdragon processor manages to maintain high performance even with prolonged use and without affecting too much in terms of energy, even if a little heat still seems to accumulate on the back.
Camera
Xiaomi did the right thing and equipped its Xiaomi 13 Pro of three cameras from 50 megapixels.
The primary is a 1″ camera with optical image stabilization and ƒ/1.9 aperture. The secondary is a ƒ/2.2 wide angle, while the last ƒ/2.0 guarantees a 3.2X optical zoom.
It is an excellent kit that guarantees high quality photos in every context, also thanks to the collaboration with Leica. If you choose the “authentic Leica” shooting option, then we also have greater color fidelity and even contrast in the images. However, it is also true that for the average user the “lively Leica” profile is the one that will give the most satisfaction. Net of some images with a little too much post processing otherwise Xiaomi 13 Pro is a truly exceptional smartphone in terms of the camera. Sharp images, rich in detail and with a good color balance.
However, where Xiaomi 13 Pro gives its best is in night shots. It can still happen to take an “unlucky” shot but overall most of the shots will be better than expected.
In fact, the shot remains very fast even in low light, minimizing the risk of blurry parts. Well also the wide angle camera and the 3.2X zoomwhich overall suffer only a little more from involuntary movements or some minimal focusing errors.
The video part is also very good. The videos in 8K are of excellent quality and filmed in 4K at 60fps they are however very good, remaining usable in practically any context. It doesn’t reach the stabilization of some excellent “colleagues”, but we are absolutely at the top of the “ranking”.
Display

Xiaomi has chosen for this 13 pros a curved display from 6.7 inches with 2K resolution (1400 x 3200 pixels) and made in LTPO AMOLED technology. Both the resolution and the refresh rate can adjust automatically during use based on the content shown and in the latter case you can get up to 120Hz (with a minimum of 1 Hz). This panel, which is slightly curved at the edges, supports a peak brightness of 1,900 nits.
It is a fantastic panel that will give you great satisfaction in daily use. It also supports a true (unlike other Xiaomi) always on display and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus glass.
Software
Xiaomi 13 Pro arrives with Android 13 and the MIUI 14 to add customization and additional features. This latest incarnation of MIUI 14 unfortunately does not bring real news and indeed, at least on the European market, it is practically identical to MIUI 13. Among the most interesting customizations we find the side menu (which in video apps also has a specific menu with some cool features), double-tap on the back for shortcuts, turbo RAM, and the ability to quickly launch features and apps by holding down the fingerprint reader longer after unlocking. The software is lightning fast and we have not encountered any bugs, but compared to other competitors and perhaps here that the gap has expanded further.
Autonomy
Xiaomi 13 Pro puts a battery on the plate 4,820mAh which guarantees excellent autonomy with average use. In reality, the autonomy is very good even for prolonged use, even if under the weight of long gaming or video recording sessions, it can still discharge a little faster. The slightly smaller battery than other competitors is to make room for a system recharge at 120W which guarantees a recharge from 0 to 100 in just 19 minutes. Fantastic. The 50W wireless charging speed is also fantastic. There is also 10W wireless charging.
Price
Xiaomi 13 Pro is launched on the market at €1,399. It is an absolute high price and also high in the Xiaomi price list and in relation to competitors who certainly offer something more at the same price today. The launch promo of €100 less is interesting, but at the time of launch it is certainly not decisive.
In the face of other discounts, which we expect in the coming months, Xiaomi 13 Pro will certainly become much more attractive.

Final judgement
Xiaomi 13 Pro
Xiaomi 13 Pro is a real premium smartphone. We have a ceramic body, a triple 50 megapixel camera and a lightning fast 120W recharge. What puts it in a difficult position is its price. At those figures it has to deal with other very aggressive giants. With some discount it will become a very valid alternative.
