Given how little success Meta’s first attempts had, it’s no wonder that the company decided to invest further in researching its own AI.
Anthropic
Anthropican AI research company founded in 2021 by former OpenAI employees, is working on its own ChatGpt competitor: Claude, a chatbot that has yet to get a full public release. As far as we know, the company developed the tool using a methodology called “Constitutional Artificial Intelligence”. Simply put, Anthropic trains the language model with about 10″instructions or principles of natural language” which this then uses to automatically review your answers. The objective of the system, in fact, is to “train better and more harmless AI assistants”, without incorporating human feedback. An optimal premise to compete with ChatGpt.

You.com is a company founded by two former employees of Salesforce, which has recently presented a new search engine provided with a “chat” tool based on Artificial Intelligence, which works very similar to what Microsoft is testing on Bing. It’s about YouChata chatbot based on the company’s CAL model, capable of provide answers to various types of questionscreate summaries of articles from the web, generate codes, write essays and more. In addition to providing users with access to YouChat, You.com also recently introduced AI image generator templates built-in tools, including Stable Diffusion 1.5, Stable Diffusion 2.1, and Open Journey, which you can use to generate images from a descriptive text.

Also Alibaba ride the trend of AI chatbots. According to a company spokesperson earlier last month, the company is internally testing a rival to ChatGpt. But it is quite clear that there are quite a few obstacles to overcome before launching the chatbot on the market, especially considering that Chinese regulators fear that AI could spread uncensored content among users.
Baidu
Baidu is also preparing to launch an AI tool called “Ernie Bot“. First appearing in 2019, the chatbot has evolved into a tool capable of generate conversational responses similar to ChatGpt. According to the company, the model was trained on “massive unstructured data and a giant knowledge graph” and now “excels in both natural language understanding (NLU) and generation (NLG)“. Just like Microsoft and Google, Baidu is also planning to integrate the chatbot into your search engineand will embed the tool too in the next EV interface made by Chinese startup Jidu.
In short, there seem to be many alternatives to ChatGpt, which puts Open AI in the position of having to optimize its chatbot to be able to hold the leadership in the sector. Beyond this, what is clear is that Artificial Intelligence will be increasingly an integral part of our future, and finally users from all over the world seem to be starting to accept it.
