What doesn’t kill her makes her stronger.
Kelly Clarkson announced Sunday that she is coming out with a new album called “Chemistry.”
The talk show host explained in an Instagram video that she came up with the title after her acrimonious divorce from Brandon Blackstock.
“I was trying to find a word that really described the whole thing ’cause I didn’t want everybody to think I was just coming out with some just like, ‘I’m angry, I’m sad’ — like just one or two emotions, you know?” she said.
“This album is definitely the arc of an entire relationship … and a whole relationship shouldn’t be just brought down to one thing. So there’s, you know, the good, the bad and the ugly kind of thing going on in it.”
Clarkson, who filed for divorce from Blackstock in 2020, told fans that she worked on the album for “close to three years.”
She noted that “chemistry can be a really amazing, sexy, cool, fun thing, but it can also be very bad for you,” so she thought it would be “the perfect title” for the all-encompassing record.

The “Voice” coach did not reveal the release date, but she did tease that she has new music coming “really soon.” She also has a 10-date Las Vegas residency in the works.
While Clarkson released a holiday album titled “When Christmas Comes Around…” in 2021, “Chemistry” is her first traditional LP since 2017’s “Meaning of Life.”
The “American Idol” alum, 40, settled her divorce from the former music manager, 46, last year after a legal battle over everything from their Montana ranch to spousal and child support to custody of their two children: daughter River, 8, and son Remington, 6.
The former couple had been married since 2013.
Blackstock also has two kids from a previous union: daughter Savannah, 21, and son Seth, 16.
