If you are wondering what a 43 inch laptop, there is someone who could perhaps give you a convincing answer. It’s about Evan and Katelyna couple of youtubers that a 43-inch laptop has it home made complete with RGB lighting, touchpad and desktop keyboard.
The two have edited a video that traces the entire design and construction process that begins with a model made in 3D. The materials used are basically two: extruded aluminum and wooduseful for building the chassis that houses the entire plethora of components.
In particular, extruded aluminum has been used for the hinges to which gods have been attached plywood panels, thick enough to be able to support the weight of the display. For the latter, in fact, one was used real 43 inch TV from which the pedestal has simply been removed. The television was then fixed to the panel through the VESA attachment as to a wall.
The configuration requires a PC Intel NUC 11 high-end equipped with a processor Intel Core i7-1165G7 and a video card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060. For feeding, however, they were used two huge battery modulesone for the TV and the other for the computer, with one added third battery to power the LEDs (of course, they are essential to improve overall performance).
Some might ask: “what about connectivity?”. Well, the two creators also provided for that thanks to several USB hubs whose wiring has been hidden inside the chassis. In short, from this point of view it is a complete laptop from every point of view.
Only one knot remains to be solved: the weight. After an initial forecast of approx 22.5kg (50 lbs) the computer was found to weigh exactly twice as much, ben 45kg. Obviously this is a mere exercise in style, we highly doubt it will be used as a mobile workstation. It must be admitted, however, that it is not even a fixed location, but we could define it as a “limited portability” laptop.
