AMD has finally released a new version of the AMD Software Drivers: Adrenalin Edition compatible not only with the latest generation Radeon RX 7900 XTX and XT video cards, but even with the previous proposals starting from the RX 400 series.
In recent weeks we had highlighted how the US company had left users of previous generation video cards without drivers for almost two months. In early February, an AMD executive had promised new drivers within two weeks and so, indeed, it went.
The AMD Software: Adrenaline Edition 23.2.1 I’m a release WQHL extension and, apparently, they’re not a release made just to mark the spot. Just go and see the release notes (to this address) to notice, with improvements of several percentage points in some games recognized with Radeon GPUs of the RX 6000 and 7000 series. The picture is completed by support for Forkspoken and Dead Space, two recent titles with mixed success, but also for Hogwarts Legacy. AMD has published slides outlining performance improvements since the launch of Windows 11:
The release notes also highlight the many bug fixes but, above all, these drivers deliver streaming optimizations for H.264 and H.265 that help improve broadcast quality, and an update to AMD Link that improves overall connectivity across all Radeon products, so you can game from anywhere in the world on virtually any device.
The drivers also allow Radeon RX 6000 and RX 7000 cards to make the most of the optimized encoder of the latest version of OBSincluding encoding acceleration AV1 on the latest Radeon RX 7000 GPUs. To download the new release, all you have to do is go to the AMD website.
