Android definitely is the most used mobile operating system in the world: the Google OS can in fact be installed on smartphone of any price range, and therefore remains the only choice for those who do not want to spend too much on a mobile device. In the United States, however, the situation is different, e iOS continues to be the first choice for Americans.

A new search for Counterpoint Research shows how Americans are increasingly attracted to Apple’s operating system: beyond the 50% of active smartphones on the US market are equipped with some version of iOSwhile the remaining percentage mounts the Android operating system. For Apple, this is the highest market share since the launch of the first iPhone in 2007.
It should also be noted that the Android smartphones present in the USA are developed by over 150 different manufacturers, while obviously the iOS devices are exclusively iPhones. Also Counterpoint Research, last quarter, had stated that iPhone sales were on the rise and Apple hadn’t recorded such sales numbers for several years. All this suggests how much US users are always fond of the iPhone.
“Operating systems are usually like religions, there are never significant changes”Counterpoint’s director told the publication Jeff Fieldhack. “But in the last four years there has been a continuous and constant shift from Android to iOS. “
In addition to the Counterpoint reports, there is also a report from StockApps which confirms what has just been said: in April of this year, StockApps stated that, globally, Android had lost 8% of its market share in the last five years, but in the same period iOS had gained 6%.
