The Immuni App comes to an end: a note released by the Ministry of Health confirms that will be decommissioned as of December 31st:
On December 31, 2022, the Immuni App is decommissioned. If you downloaded the App before the closure, you will keep the certifications you have acquired, but you will not be able to update the App, download new certifications or view any expirations with respect to those already acquired.
All other COVID-19 Green Certification acquisition systems will remain active.
Starting from 31 December next, the app will be able to perform this task only for already downloaded certifications, but the possibility of downloading new ones will no longer be possible – for this purpose all the other tools already prepared remain active (IO app, health file, website www .dgc.gov.it). The ministerial note also clarifies that no new updates will be released of the app, meaning that very soon those who still use it could soon find themselves using an obsolete app exposed to security risks.
As required by the decree law of 30 April 2020 n28 (converted into law 70 of 25 June 2020), the Ministry of Health confirms that, again starting from 31 December 2022, any processing of personal data carried out will be interrupted through the app. From the beginning of next year Immuni it will no longer be available in the Apple, Google and Huawei mobile stores and it will no longer be able to carry out tracking activities on smartphones on which it is still installed.
