Now a new Chinese brand, controlled by Great Wall, which is about to arrive in the European market with some electric cars. The entry model will be the Funky Catknown domestically as the Good Cat, which will soon be on sale in the UK.
For this the house had to subject the model to the classics safety testa, and so we had the answer to a question that comes up on time: are Chinese electric cars poor, and therefore unsafe?
Judging by the results of the Funky Cat it would be said no, as it totaled five stars Euro NCAP. In detail, the car received a score of 92% for adult occupants, 83% for children, 74% from the point of view of road users, and 93% for assistive devices.
There is a downside, as although Ora has decided to bring only the model with the smallest battery to the UK, the car will not be as cheap as many expected. With a 48 kWh usable, about 310 km of WLTP autonomy, and fast recharging in 30 minutes from 30 to 80%, the Funky Cat will be on sale starting from 31,990 pounds, the correspondent of almost 37,000 euros.
Compared to the Chinese model, European customers will find a more powerful engine, 126 kW instead of 105 kW, but little more. It is not yet clear whether the battery will consist of NCM or LFP cells. It remains to be seen, therefore, what the launch policy will be, with special discounts or promotions, because otherwise the fight with the MG4 of MG Motor it will be really tough, given the aggressive price.
