Free To Xthe subsidiary of Highways for Italy which deals with services including recharging for electric cars, has reached the milestone of 50 parking areas equipped with ultra-fast charging columns.
This brings the goal of the 50 kilometers of interdistance between service areas served with fast top-up, as required by European standards. The last two stations of this first group will be active in the next few days, but work continues. In fact, Free To X is traveling in great strides towards the 100 total stations, of which another 20 already see the work completed, and another 10 are under construction.

Where Free To X will not bring the top-up, other operators will take care of it. In fact, the procedures for the assignment of high power recharging servicesto which other managers will be able to access, so as to also cover the parking areas not included in the Free To X plan.

Roberto Tomasi, CEO of Autostrade per l’Italia, said: “Through the motorway network electrification plan, we want to give a concrete response to the challenge of the sustainability revolution, in the face of a rapidly growing market – that of full electric vehicles.
