OPINION:
As Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, my opponent in New Jersey’s sixth district – Frank Pallone Jr. – has been a total failure in creating fiscal policies that result in economic security for our families and communities.
In January of 2021 when Democrats took total control of Washington, the inflation rate was 1.4%. Today, the rate of inflation is 8.3%, the highest in 40 years. Groceries, gas, utilities, and housing are costing the average American family an extra $445 per month. My family doesn’t have an extra $5,340 per year to cover the basic cost of living.
Like most families, we’re pinching pennies, reducing our savings, shopping for bargains where we can find them, spending less on leisure and entertainment, and hoping to avoid credit card debt. We’re worried about how prices and the supply chain will impact Santa’s ability to provide a joyful Christmas morning for our grandchildren.
Policies from Biden and Pallone are increasing the cost of living while also reducing our retirement savings. “Bidenflation” has cost American 401K plans and pensions $5.8 trillion in value. Don’t take my word for it. Check your retirement savings statement before voting.
Pallone stood behind Biden and applauded when the president signed the misnamed “Inflation Reduction Act.” The act – a combination of the “Green New Deal” and “Build Back Better” – increases the cost of energy – including gasoline, home heating, and electricity – and pumps hundreds of billions of dollars in wasteful government spending into the economy, resulting in even more inflation.
It’s time to stop the insanity. Frank Pallone has been in Congress for 34 years. It’s time for change.
As the representative of the people of New Jersey’s sixth congressional district, I will support legislation and policies that restore our energy independence and economic prosperity.
I will vote to overturn Biden’s tax increases on Americans earning less than $400,000 and his taxes on manufacturing jobs.
I will vote to repurpose unobligated COVID money. Hundreds of billions of dollars from Democrats’ $2 trillion COVID spending bill remain unobligated. Those funds should be repurposed and returned to the U.S. Treasury, where they can be used to reduce the deficit and pay down our debt.
As a former nurse, the proud wife and mother of police officers, and the grandmother of thirteen precious children, I will fight to restore the economic security and prosperity of New Jersey’s families and communities.
We can’t change Washington without changing the people we send there. Frank Pallone has been in Washington for 34 long years. He has lost touch with the values of his constituents. It is time to make a change.
