Representative Matt Gaetz reveals that he and Marjorie Taylor Greene have invited Tara Reade, a former Senate staffer who accused President Biden of sexual assault, to give a transcribed interview to Congress.
Gaetz made the announcement on a recent episode of his Firebrand podcast.
“President Trump might not be the only person answering questions about prior conduct,” the Florida Republican said, referencing Trump’s current potential indictment regarding alleged hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels.
Gaetz reported that he and Greene (R-GA), with the backing of James Comer, the House Oversight Committee chair, had been “fully authorized to bring in Tara Reade to take her transcribed interview, to get the facts and to understand what really happened with Joe Biden.”

Biden Sexual Assault Accuser Tara Reade to Testify Before Congress
Tara Reade made an allegation of sexual assault against Biden during a podcast interview back in March of 2020 after alluding to harassment in his office in the past.
“His hands were on me and underneath my clothes,” she recalled, claiming that when the assault was over Biden said, “C’mon man, I heard you liked me.”

Reade filed a criminal complaint with the sexual assault unit of the Washington, DC, Metropolitan Police Department in April of that year.
The complaint, according to Reade, was “for safety reasons only” as the statute of limitations for her claim had expired.

President Biden has forcefully pushed back on the sexual assault allegations leveled by Tara Reade.
In an interview with MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell in 2020, Biden claimed he doesn’t remember Reade and that her story has inconsistencies.
“The fact is that look at Tara Reade’s story. It changes considerably,” Biden told O’Donnell later reiterating, “It never happened.”
He reiterated the denial in subsequent interviews.
“Did you sexually assault Tara Reade”
Joe Biden: “No. It is not true. I’m saying unequivocally it never happened.”
“Do you remember her? Do you remember any types of complaints she might have made?”

Reade Requests a Congressional Investigation of Biden
Tara Reade took to social media to address the Trump/Stormy headlines this past weekend and request an investigation into President Biden.
“So I am not a former porn star nor did I receive ‘hush money’. I was a Senate staffer for Joe Biden when he sexually assaulted me in 1993,” she tweeted. “To date no investigation, only media attacks and trolls aimed at me.”
“When will Joe Biden be investigated?” she asked, tagging Greene and Gaetz in the post.

Greene replied that it was “time to take a stand against the two-tiered injustice system” and invited Reade “to speak with us.”
“Congresswoman Greene saw this tweet and she felt as though we ought to get the answers,” Gaetz said in his podcast, though he cautioned that the panel should not take the accusations “at face value.”
“There has to be review, there has to be corroboration,” he said.
Comer though, and the Oversight Committee, seemingly have pushed back on Gaetz’s claims Reade would be coming in for an interview.
“The Oversight Committee is focused on the Biden family’s business schemes and bank records,” a statement from the committee reads.
“Chairman Comer is happy to have a conversation with Rep. Gaetz about oversight he thinks should be done and what committee that should be done in.”
Comer, asked about this tweet, noted that he (Comer) hadn’t tweeted anything, said to talk to Gaetz and “I don’t even know who that is.”

For his part, Comer told a Politico reporter that he essentially had no idea what Gaetz was talking about.
“I don’t even know who that is,” he said of Reade.
