BlackBerry QNX lands on AWS
At re:Invent 2022 BlackBerry announced that it will be possible to run the operating system on AWS BlackBerry QNXwidely used by automobile manufacturers to manage vehicle functionalities, but also used in other embedded systems, such as solutions for robotics and industrial control.

This is above all an advantage for car manufacturers, which today are grappling with the growing complexity of digital systems in vehicles. A common car today requires software with about 100 million lines of code, which deal with managing not only the control unit, but also the advanced driving functions, which are gradually becoming mandatory on new generation cars. Automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, lane maintenance systems and in general all ADAS are managed by these software.
Carrying out tests to guarantee the safety standards imposed is today an extremely complicated and time-consuming task. Being able to carry out development and tests directly from the cloud, even before carrying out tests on real vehicles, simplifies procedures and allows you to speed up development times and reduce costs.
BlackBerry IVY, the AI platform co-developed with AWS
The operating system is only one part of the technologies BlackBerry works on. Another key area on which the company is engaged is Blackberry IVYan AI platform co-developed with AWS that enables automakers to securely and reliably share data from in-vehicle sensors, deliver personalized customer experiences, and identify and exploit new business opportunities.
