Introduced with the Aid ter decree approved by the Council of Ministers on Friday 16 September – presumably the last decree of government led by Mario Draghi before the elections on Sunday 25 September – the 150 euro bonus will arrive from November. It is a subsidy lump sum designed to help beneficiaries to better cope with generalized price increases. Here’s what we know so far.

The 150 bonus and the new aid against energy price increases

These are the cornerstones of the Aid ter decree, which allocates another 14 billion euros in support to families and businesses. Investments in healthcare and agriculture and ITS reform are also planned

Who can benefit from it?

The audience of beneficiaries will understand employees, pensioners, co.co.co. workers, domestic workers, unemployed people, citizenship income earners, self-employed doctoral students with and without VAT number who in 2021 received a total gross income of less than 20 thousand euros. This is a lowering of the income limit compared to the € 200 bonus introduced with the first Aid decree and enhanced with the second, from € 35 thousand to € 20 thousand. It is estimated that the audience of beneficiaries will include approximately 22 million citizens.

Who will receive it automatically?

Most of the categories of beneficiaries for which compensation is foreseen they will receive it automatically. They’ll have it in their November paycheck employees with salary taxable in November up to € 1,538 upon declaration of not being the recipient of other incompatible services, a bit like what happened for the € 200 bonus. They will automatically receive it from INPS retirees who received less than € 20,000 in income in 2021. No application for either domestic workers and the unemployed already beneficiaries of the 200 euro bonus, who will receive the subsidy from INPS in November, and no application for the seasonal tourism workers, entertainment spas and sports already beneficiaries of the covid allowance. No question even for families with Basic income – who will receive it with the November benefit as long as there are no beneficiaries of other allowances in the nucleus – and self-employed persons eligible for the 200 euro bonus, who have not yet received that either.

Who will have to request it?

They will have to submit an application co.co.co workers., i PhD students they research fellows, who will have to prove that they are not holders of the € 200 bonus, that they are not enrolled in other compulsory social security forms and that they have an income of up to € 20 thousand. It is a contribution lump sum, and therefore will be paid only once.
