In fact, BYD has shared, through the Chinese social network Weibo, a series of teaser images of the first electric model to be launched under the new Yangwang brand. It should be some kind of electric SUV. The interesting thing is that it will be unveiled in China on next January 5th. The teasers allow you to see only a few details of the car including the L-shaped rear light unit and a close-up of part of the front. The shapes of this new model, internally called R1, should be particularly massive.

Also, it appears that he will be able to have outstanding off-road capability. Once on the market, it could come into direct competition with models of the caliber of the Land Rover Defender or even the Mercedes G-Class. Obviously, these are hypotheses as we do not yet know the precise characteristics of this new vehicle.


The power train should have 4 electric motors, one per wheel. It is not clear whether it will adopt the current Blade batteries or if it will have a new generation accumulator. The only really certain thing is that this model will be born to be particularly exclusive. The price, therefore, will reflect its contents. In this regard, it is speculated that its cost could be around one million yuan which at the exchange rate is almost 135 thousand euros.
