Just a few hours ago we saw Google take the next step in the industry smart TVlaunching the much talked about Chromecast with Google TV (HD).

The device differs from the previous model launched in 2020, which is now identified by the name Chromecast with Google TV 4K to differentiate it from the new one, it will also see some interesting news.
Google has indeed confirmed to 9to5Google that Chromecast with Google TV 4K will receive soon update to Android 12. Definitely good news considering the low frequency of updates that the device has seen since it has been on the market.
What will this bring major update? Don’t expect revolutions. The bulk of the news Google has so far introduced with progressive updates, such as the one that has introduced user profiles. Android 12 will introduce the privacy indicators for microphone and camera, support for the 4K resolution for the user interface and not just for the content and others optimizations general.
It is not mentioned no news to fix i storage problems complained by most of the users who use it.
However, it remains to be understood what Google means by “will come soon“. No official timing has been defined. The rosiest hypothesis is that the major update will arrive concurrentlyor immediately after, the market launch of the new Chromecast with Google TV (HD) scheduled for October 18.
