In recent months, precisely since the end of June, I have been using the chair for work from home Corsair TC200, a particularly elegant model that can be easily adapted to an office as well as a gaming setup. The price range is medium-high and the added values are there solidity and comfort, with a particular target towards tall and robust people. I was able to try it in the summer heat and in the cooler last weeks, so as to get a complete idea of the performance in the different conditions of use. I’ll tell you how it went.
INDEX
HOW IT IS MADE
There Corsair TC200 it is built on the basis of the popular T3 Rush model, with some changes made thanks to user feedback, such as a wider seat and less support. From the very first glance you can see how it is particularly suitable for tall and / or sturdy users, the seat is soft but does not collapse even after long sessions, the backrest is spacious, the piston raising range is 12 cm (class 4), even the armrests are wide and very deeply adjustable in height. In short, if you are tall from 180 cm upwards you will certainly be fine, if instead you are smaller you could opt for a more restraining chair.
In addition to the generous dimensions, the other characterizing feature is the sturdiness, the whole frame, as well as the base of the chair, is made of steel and you will notice it immediately during assembly with its 25.9 kg of weight. The only plastic parts are the armrest frames, on which a large soft pad is set, and some covers that protect the tilt mechanism and the piston.
Speaking of assembly, don’t worry, one person alone will have no problems and within 15 minutes you will be ready.
The solidity of the chair clearly emerges in everyday use, every movement is stable, you never have the feeling of being on the edge or of risking a fall. It is impressive to see the perfect balance even with the backrest fully reclined! Even after a couple of months no creaking or suspicious noise, the piston arrives well greased and probably you will never need to do maintenance, all the mechanisms work perfectly as on the first day.
The model I tried is in breathable dark gray fabric, however, there is also a light gray color as well as two variants in eco-leather with the same colors. In all cases, the seat and back padding is made of polyurethane foam with a density of 55 Kg / m3, which is rather reactive and also suitable for heavier people.
Regarding cleaning, I can tell you that even the fabric can be washed without problems with a damp cloth, it is not stained and apparently it is still as perfect as the first day. It looks and feels a lot like car seatsmade to last over time.
The lumbar support is integrated in the backrest, instead in the package you will find a detachable memory foam cushion, comfortable for the cervical area. The self-locking wheels are 5 and quite large (75 mm), made of TPU, with a nice rubber cover that avoids unpleasant damage to the parquet.
ADJUSTMENTS
The adjustments are really a lot, first of all it is possible to adjust the seat height with an excursion of 12 cm, it is possible to fully recline the backrest and activate a tilt with an angle of 0-17 °. There is also an adjustment for the tension of the tilt movement.
Moving on to the armrests we have a so-called 4D movement (height, angle, advancement and lateral displacement). With all the adjustments it is really easy to find the right position for your needs. I emphasize that all the movements are quite large, so to speak they are not only valid adjustments on paper which then turn out to be useless, no, here everything is functional.
Unfortunately, there is no regulation of the curvature of the lumbar support, which on the one hand will force you to assume a well erect position to be able to unload the weight from the back, but on the other hand it makes ergonomics not ideal for those suffering from back problems.
COMFORT
Personally I had a great time, I am 180 cm tall by 74 kg of weight and the dimensions of this chair are right for my build. However, I think that a more robust and taller person could even make better use of it, even if I very much appreciated the possibility of moving on the seat without the feeling of constriction of the more containing ones.
Among the most interesting aspects is the very abundant sitting in depthyou have to get used to it, initially I felt the posterior femoral muscles a little tired, but after a period of acclimatization I began to perceive the benefits of a larger surface on which to unload the weight.
Nothing to say about the padding, for me it offers a ideal compromise between support and acceptanceThe armrests are also perfect, they have the right consistency and the adjustments are truly millimeter.
The memory foam pillow it is well done but it cannot be adjusted in height, or rather, if it is attached with the appropriate straps it remains fixed, while leaving it free obviously it can be positioned where it is needed. For me it is a little too low so in the end I never used it.
I have already told you about the lumbar support, but it is not very pronounced and not adjustable, too bad. Here it depends on your physical conformation, but the fact that the seat is long gives you the opportunity to use a simple cushion to increase its curvature.
I still add a consideration on breathability. Here, this is the keystone for me: I deeply hate feeling my buttocks and back sweat in hot weather, with leather chairs it’s a disaster for me; here, on the other hand, you are always quite cool, the fabric is soft but does not collapse so there is never that feeling of being “stuck”.
CONCLUSION AND PRICES
The gaming chair Corsair TC200 costs 389.99 Euros in the list in the two color variants in fabric and eco-leather. You can buy it on the official website and in major online and offline electronics stores.
The final judgment can only be positive, certainly the investment is important, but especially for robust builds there are not many proposals and this Corsair chair has everything you need to make you comfortable comfortable. The design is just what I was looking for, in the gray color it is sober and elegant, very far from some tacky gaming chairs, which makes it also very suitable for use in the office.
Finally I leave you an alternative, to save a hundred euros: the Corsair T3 Rush remains the chair suitable for everyone and everything, a little smaller than the TC200 but equally comfortable.
