Corsair Xeneon Flex Oled, the first gaming monitor that goes from flat to curved (and vice versa)

Never before has a monitor like the one presented at Gamescom 2022 in Cologne been seen: Corsair Xeneon Flex Oled – a 45-inch diagonal gaming screen – has as its main feature that of being flexiblethat is, can easily go from flat to curved simply pushing its two ends as desired. One week after the launch of the colossal 55-inch Samsung Odissey Ark gaming monitor, capable of rotating 90 degrees to catapult the user into the center of the action, Corsair responds with another surprising and unprecedented model like the Xeneon Flex Oled, which exploits the same flexible technology seen on board foldable smartphones (like the recent fourth generation Galaxy Fold and Flip) to change the screen structure. Instead of closing the book display, however, in this case the curvature of the screen is changed, which can arrive up to a maximum of 800R, the equivalent of a hypothetical circle with a radius of 80 centimeters. The panel is of the w-oled type, made in collaboration with the expert Lg Display, and guarantees a vivid and realistic contrast as the individual pixels are switched off to create the perfect black. There is also proprietary technology for avoid the burn-in phenomenonthe persistence of the images on the display, especially during switching on and off.

With a 21: 9 widescreen aspect ratio, 3440 x 1440 pixel resolution and 1000 nit peak brightness, this gaming monitor lowers the pixel on / off time to 0.01ms and delivers a 240 Hz refresh rate. There is no lack of compatibility with the Nvidia G-Sync and Amd FreeSync Premium standards, for maximum performance during the game. The precise date of release on the markets and the price of Corsair Xeneon Flex Oled will be communicated in the coming months, but for sure those who want to get their hands on it will have to prepare to shell out a considerable amount.
