Dyson announces full specifications of Dyson Zone, announced earlier this year. The headphones promise a pure and immersive listening experience but above all they do what is expected of a Dyson product: thanks to a visor and five years of research and development work they dispense the wearer with clean air, deprived of polluting particles.
According to the manufacturer, in fact they manage to capture 99% of polluting particles down to 0.1 micronswhile thanks to the K-Carbon activated carbon filters enriched with potassium they are able to to catch the acid gases most associated with urban pollution, including NO2 and SO2. Dyson Zones promise to protect the wearer from both the air pollution of large urban centers and thenoise pollutionthanks to active noise cancellation.
Compressors have been inserted into each auricle which suck in the air and push it towards the double layer filters which are estimated to be fully efficient for one year. There is then a wide range of noise canceling microphones: 8 for ANC, 2 for call reduction, and one more to capture the wearer’s voice. Management is entrusted to the MyDyson app, which gives you the option to choose between three equalization modes: Dyson EQ (improved), Bass Boost (bassy) and Neutral (flatter response curve).
Dyson Zone headphones will be marketed in 2023from January in China and others “selected markets” during the year. “The timings – explains Dyson – will vary depending on the geographical area and we will confirm it as local availability approaches”. There is no reference to Italy, but the feeling is that they will come to us too. No indication, yet, on the pricebut it’s easy to guess that they won’t be cheap.
