Huawei, despite a not particularly favorable period, continues to invest in the mobile sector. The latest news in this regard is the future release of the new update “EMUI 13”. This is the same update called in China as “HarmonyOS 3.0”: in fact in the global context the firmware created by the Chinese company retains the name “EMUI”. Moving on to the new features of the package, they are various and all with one goal: to guarantee the user an even more engaging experience.
One of the main novelties it’s about interacting with widgets. For example, the icons of system apps that include a widget have a line at the bottom: if you press on it by swiping upwards, the relative widget will open (which can be customized in size and fixed on the screen). By the way, always speaking of widgets, some of them can be combined creating a unique solution capable of providing more information.
Another novelty is called “Superhub” and consists of enhancement of the “copy / paste” function. In practice, it will be possible to drag text, files or images to the top right, where a virtual folder will be displayed that will contain all the copied items.
This folder can then be opened to select previously copied files. News also for “Super Device”, the option that allows various Huawei devices to communicate with each other and now supports more products, including MatePad Paper, MateBook and Huawei Vision TV. In terms of novelty, for example, multi-screen collaboration will support horizontal windows for smartphone mirroring to PC. In addition, again via Super Device, the ability to share audio on multiple headphones has been added (compatibility limited to Huawei FreeBuds 2 Pro).
There is also a certain attention to the “cleaning” of the smartphone: it will take care of it “SuperStorage”, an option that will compress less used apps and eliminate all unnecessary downloads. This function will be able to free up to 20 GB. Finally, on the security side, Huawei has renewed the “Privacy Center”, which will provide an overview of how often apps request access to personal data, and the “Security Center”which will automatically scan for any security risks and viruses.

Huawei, at least until now, did not provide precise timing regarding the release of the “EMUI 13” update. In this regard, it is likely that some news may emerge in the coming weeks.
