There telemedicine it is a technology that has been talked about for a long time but which has only accelerated in recent years, also due to the Covid pandemic. The reason is quite simple: many follow-up visits or therapeutic pathways do not necessarily require a visit to the clinic or a face-to-face meeting with the doctor. Simple household tools and an Internet connection are enough to keep some pathologies under control. Wider dissemination of telemedicine would lead to numerous advantages: fewer queues in hospitals or clinics, fewer journeys for children, the elderly and frail people, and consequently also fewer CO2 emissions to go to the doctor.
But where are we today? In the end, we all have the basic technology and it is our smartphone. On the other hand, it is more complicated to find health facilities that provide these types of services. To accelerate the diffusion of telemedicine Fastweb and Saluber MDa company specializing in services for remote medicine, have launched the service FASTHealth.
FASTHealth, a doctor available 24/7, wherever you are

FASTHealth is a platform developed by Fastweb and SaluberMD that allows you to get in touch via smartphone, at any time of the day, with general practitioners or to book visits, always remotely, with specialists. It covers different areas, such as rehabilitation, pediatrics, cardiology and nutrition. Curiously, it also offers ways to support people who are following a “digital detox” path, i.e. who tend to be too dependent on smartphones and technology in general. The initiative is commendable, but it makes you smile that to detoxify from the digital world it is necessary to exploit precisely those tools on which you want to reduce your dependence.
Each FASTHealth patient will have a digital medical record, which will allow specialists to know his medical history and to archive new data in a secure manner.
The service is also affiliated with some medical facilities and allows you to obtain discounts of up to 50% on medical services.
The service costs 60 euros a year (in 12 installments of 5 euros a month) and includes access to the platform, five video calls with a general practitioner and a televisit with a specialist.
“FASTHealth offers a concrete response to the needs of patients and their families and makes it possible to reduce diagnosis and intervention times thanks to the use of simple and personalized digital solutions, taking advantage of our ultra-broadband services at home and on the move“, he has declared Mark Pennarola, Head of Marketing at Fastweb. “With FASTHealth we want to build a future in which the home can become the first place of care and widespread and sustainable access to high quality healthcare services”.
“Activating a collaboration with Fastweb is a source of pride for us”, he claims Guido Broggi CEO of SaluberMD Italy. “Our mission is not only to implement medical services remotely through specialist televisits, but the very culture of telemedicine in Italy, so that people can carry out visits from the comfort of their home or wherever they are, reducing travel and any inconvenience”.
