Fitbit is preparing to introduce several new features, both regarding new products – we saw them in the first renderings – and for software support, which apparently is about to be updated with a small limitation. Starting from 13 Octoberindeed, will be removed the ability for users to synchronize music and podcasts on their wearable devices with PC and Mac via the Connect app. This was a useful function for those who have older Fitbit products or who did not want to switch between tablets or smartphones to synchronize multimedia content, preferring to connect the wearable directly to a Mac or PC.
On October 13, we will remove the option to sync your Fitbit device with the Fitbit Connect app on your computer. Download and use the Fitbit app on your phone to sync your device.
News that shouldn’t worry too much the owners of the fitness tracker of the Alphabet universe: the synchronization can take place through the Fitbit app for mobile devices. Furthermore:
On October 13, 2022, we will remove the ability to transfer playlists to your Fitbit through your computer. You will be able to continue listening to personal music saved on your watch and transfer it to your watch with the Deezer app and Pandora.
The music transfer function, therefore, will remain active on compatible devices but only via Deezer and Pandora. The first app is also available in our country, the second is limited to the United States. Fitbit offers a 90-day free trial for both platforms.
So nothing transcendental, except that neither Deezer nor Pandora are so widespread as to justify the choice by Fitbit to rely on these two applications to transfer music to the wearable device.
