JAMMU: To foster the entrepreneurship culture amongst school students, the Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu), in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship and Rural Development Centre (ERDC) and the National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research (NITTTR) Chandigarh, under the aegis of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, has launched a Five-Day Residential Boot camp “Enlightening the Entrepreneurial Spirit” here in Jagti campus.
The inaugural event witnessed the presence of a panel of esteemed guests, including Suraj Bhardwaj, Former National Head Agrivision, as the chief guest, and Prof Kannan Iyer as the distinguished Guest of Honor, along with Dr. Vijay Kumar Pal and Chetan Sahore.
Suraj Bhardwaj, in his presidential address, motivated the young minds by nurturing their entrepreneurial spirit and inspiring them to think innovatively.
Prof Kannan Iyer, the guest of honor, urged the young students to aspire to become job-providers, instilling in them a sense of responsibility towards creating new opportunities.
Earlier in his welcome address to the participating students and their parents, Dr Vijay Pal emphasized the crucial role that such initiatives play in fostering the nation’s development.
The primary focus of this Entrepreneurial Boot Camp is to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit among the school students by covering various aspects of entrepreneurship, including personality assessment, idea generation, business planning, legalities, funding, pitching, and understanding government initiatives that support entrepreneurial ventures.
Under the initiative, students from different states have converged to network with fellow students, aspiring entrepreneurs, industry representatives and officials.
