There is always a phase, before a political election, in which the “elevated” threads around the political principles, sacrosanct, they clash against this army of political shame and misery. We know where these miseries come from – mostly, not in an absolute sense, unfortunately no one is immune – we know which parties they belong to or which ones give them the opportunity to stand as candidates, of which groups they are local or national representatives and we know what their conduct, their morals, their idea of the world and of society are. So there must also be a time when a point is put to that debate, made up of a little too frequent malpancisms: you look at the political offer and, if it is really so disheartening, you give a vote first starting from “what we are not“. This is how democracies keep against the risks of those who would like to bomb them at their foundations: it is not a question of voting for the least worst, which is also a humanly and politically frustrating exercise, but to curb the worst.
