“A Plane Without Wings” this is what the company, the Canadian start-up, called it TransPodexplaining its functioning with an evocative image.
Let’s talk about FluxJet, a means of transport 100% electric which, not unlike other Chinese projects (which we talked about here) or the famous Hyperloop of Elon Musk’s The Boring Company, use magnetic levitation inside an almost vacuum tube to reach speeds precluded to any other means of transport.

The FluxJet is equipped with aerodynamic and propulsion systems specially designed for reduce friction and can carry up to 54 passengers, plus two wheelchairs: has four luggage racks and can carry up to 10 tons of cargo.

It will travel along a dedicated pipe system known as “TransPod Line” helping to relieve congestion on Canada’s major roads and highways.
“All the hard work over the last few years has led to this pivotal moment where the talk is becoming a reality”TransPod co-founder and CEO Sebastien Gendron said in a press release. “The technology is proven and we have the trust of investors, governments and partners to keep pushing forward to redefine transportation effectively”.
The TransPod Line will have stations in key locations and major cities, with departures every two minuteslike a local subway line.

The project should come true by 2030 and, according to the company, the ticket will cost about 44% less than the plane ticket on the same route.
FluxJet will help create up to 140,000 jobs and will add $19.2 billion to Canada’s GDP during construction: it will also help to reduce CO2 emissions of approximately 636,000 tons per year.

TransPod recently received funding from 550 million dollars and kicked off the next phase of a US infrastructure project from 18 billion dollars to build the TransPod line between Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta county, Canada.

According to the estimates of the start-up, the journey between the two cities (which are 300km from each other) will be approx 45 minutes.

The company recently presented a model FluxJet at an event in Torontodemonstrating live its operation.
Numerous information, as well as interesting animations, are available on the official website of TransPod.
