Galaxy Z Fold 4, fresh from its debut in the main markets, is marketed with Android 12 customized with the One UI 4.1.1 user interface but someone has thought of change the software platform to one that invokes Microsoft’s operating systems: Windows for desktop systems and (il fu) Windows Phone for smartphones. The author of the interesting customization is Mark Spurrell who documented it with a video posted on YouTube.
For the avoidance of doubt, the smartphone is always based on Android, but thanks to the use of two separate launchers shows an interface similar to that of Windows Phone on the external display and to that of Windows in the large internal display. The two launchers used are respectively Square Home And Win-X Launcher. The process to complete the transformation is relatively simple according to the author: to make the two interfaces work at the same time, he resorted to a routine of the Bixby digital assistant.

The screen of the external display will therefore be familiar to those who remember the Microsoft operating system for smartphones: the tiles are resizable and the icons can be changed to faithfully replicate those of the original platform of the Redmond house. There is also the possibility of using gestures to quickly activate functions such as the camera. The interface shown on the internal display instead resembles that of Windows 10, including the Start menu.
