On the occasion of the launch of Pixel Watch, Google has taken steps to renew some apps with the aim of “refreshing” Wear OS. This project now it should also involve two well-known software: Gmail and Calendar. To date, in fact, there is still no version of these apps for smart watches. The calendar, for example, is managed via “Agenda”a software that shows the available events, but with some limitations, such as viewing only three days (the creation of a new event, on the other hand, is entirely managed by the Google Assistant).
E-mail, on the other hand, is managed directly through notifications. In fact, each user can access the emails from the main notification feed, without the possibility, however, of retrieving them at a later time. In short, a reduced experience compared to what Apple offers with its Apple Watch and Outlook on Wear OS. To this, as mentioned before, Google would be remedying this by testing both Gmail and Calendar for Wear OS. According to the first rumors, the experience ensured by the software seems complete, even if obviously we have to wait for official communications to find out the details.
In terms of apps “Workspace”, Gmail and Calendar would add to Google Keep, which allows users to browse the feed of top notes, as well as quickly create new ones. By the way, it is also present Google Contactsrecently introduced and which integrates the renewed “Messages” and “Phone” clients.
