The release of Android 13 has given new life to Android smartphones, mainly thanks to the new features and the wider implementation of the design “Material You”. However, not all apps managed to “conquer” the new look. Among them, there was “Google News” which, however, in recent days, as reported on “Android Police”received an update dedicated to its version for Tablet.
In detail, Google News 5.71 introduces a series of visual changes that are appreciable especially if you use the apps horizontally on an Android tablet. The most visible change is certainly the vertical navigation bar on the left side, which includes the usual four buttons for the same number of sections: For you, News, Follow and Newsstand. This design, therefore, decisively moves away from the longitudinal navigation bar located at the bottom, still visible in the version of the smartphone app. Other differences concern the introduction of tile-style layout with rounded corners for the news content, which has the function of dividing the scrollable section from the fixed contents of the interface.
This new version of “Google News” comes as no surprise as the app welcomed the first hints of “Material You” back in May. Among other things, subsequently Google has updated many other proprietary applications following the guidelines of the new design, starting with “Google TV”. So, if you have an Android tablet and want to try the latest version of the app, run to update via the Google Play Store.
