New indiscretions arriving on Pixel 7a, which once again could envisage itself as the worthy update of its predecessor presented in May. This time a new leak says that we will find one of the most disregarded features of the current model, that is a display at the height of the times.
While the Google Pixel 6a is undoubtedly one of the best mid-range smartphones to choose from, there was no shortage of criticism when it comes to the display, as it is known that the refresh rate has remained anchored at the old 60Hz. However, that could change with the successor and the new details that have recently emerged about the alleged Pixel 7a can only be positive from this point of view.
The news comes via developer Kuba Wojciechowski, who had previously shared some curiosities about an alleged Google Pixel 7a model (codenamed “Lynx”) and which we told you about in the news linked above.
In his recent series of tweets, Wojciechowski mentioned that the alleged Pixel 7a could feature the presence of a 90Hz screen along with wireless charging and a new set of dual rear cameras. According to Wojciechowski, the 90Hz panel would be a 1080p display developed by Samsung.
It also reaffirms what was said about the two new image sensors on the back, an IMX787 wide-angle lens coupled with an IMX712 ultra-wide-angle lens. The first presents itself as a significant upgrade compared to the current IMX363 sensor and according to Wojciechowski this choice could make the Pixel 7 one of the best mid-range smartphones of 2023. Here’s what the definitive configuration of the cam would be, if the rumors turn out to be correct .:

As previously mentioned, the Pixel 7a is expected to support 5W wireless charging alongside traditional wired charging. Additionally, the Pixel 7a may be the first device to use Qualcomm’s Wi-Fi/Bluetooth-enabled Google Tensor chip dubbed the WCN6740. Previously, Google relied on Broadcom for devices like the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series.
