Halo Infinite new season from March 7: 3 new maps, weapons and much more

The least fortunate episode of Halo ever, in terms of appreciation from the players, is about to receive an update that will hopefully restore new life and attract the attention of disaffected users. 343 Industries is preparing to launch the third season of Halo Infinite and the arrival is really imminent. We’ll have to wait for next month, on March 7 to be precise. The description defines it as the biggest update of the free-to-play multiplayer portion and for the occasion a trailer has also been released which shows all the upcoming news.

Season 3: Echoes Within will be characterized mainly by its three new maps, the biggest novelty in all respects. If you are a Big Team Battle lover you will most likely appreciate the 8vs8 map called Oasis, while fans of frenetic 4v4 battles will have bread for their teeth thanks to the Cliffhanger and Chasm maps. Not only that, the Escalation Slayer mode also arrives, which is nothing but a version of the popular Gun Game mode.

Another novelty worthy of mention is the Shroud Screen, a new deployable equipment which creates a laser dome to provide visual coverage from anyone outside. As for the one new weapon, the studio is reporting the M392 Bandit DMR, which has always been highly appreciated by players. 343 also draws from Forge’s creations, adding even more popular community-created maps like Art’s Room, Starboard, Perilous, and Salvation. The community playlist will also grant XP to keep leveling up those Spartans. To top it all off a 100 tier Battle Pass.

Regarding the future of Halo, 343 Industries recently shared a short message on Twitter about the future of the series, in which it strongly confirms that the Microsoft crisis will not affect the future of the franchise. The statement comes at a complicated time for Microsoft, in fact, the tech giant has confirmed a few days ago that it will lay off 10,000 employees by the end of March.
