At I / O this year, Google announced its app Health Connectwhich promises to unify the management of data relating to health and at physical activities.

The last version 2.89 from Google Fit launched today, in fact, allows synchronization with Health Connectand together with Samsung Health, Leap Fitness, MyFitnessPal And Withings (in addition to the aforementioned Sleep as Android), it finally allows Health Connect to start receiving health data.
After updating to the latest version of Google Fit, you will see a new tab Synchronize with Health Connectwith a button Start which refers to introductory page of the service.

When you allow Fit to read data from Health Connect, it is stored in your Google Account with your other Fit data. Fit uses this data to provide features such as fitness and health tracking and to provide related advice and insights.
How Fit uses the data also depends on the features you use. For example, Fit can show distance data from Health Connect in workout summaries or show heart rate data in sleep sessions.
The data you choose to write to Health Connect is stored on your device and other apps you choose to sync with Health Connect will be able to access this data.

Next, you will have to choose What to share from Google Fit to Health Connect.
You can select everything via the option Allow everything or choose individual items.

At this point you are done. In Google Fit you will find a link to Health Connect, which you can still access through a tile in the quick settings.
After updating the August 26in fact, you will no longer find the icon Health Connect between your list of apps and you will have to access them via quick settings. If you don’t see it, lower the notification curtain completelyclick onpencil icon and scroll through the tile available until you see Health connection. Hold it down and move it between the quick settings active. Then, press the left arrow at the top left to exit the changes. Done, now to open Health Connect just lower the notification curtain and press the corresponding button.
We remind you that Health Connect allows you to access the data concerning
- Activities such as running, exercising, or sleeping
- Measurements on the body such as weight and metabolic rate
- Cycle monitoring for menstrual cycles and ovulation tests
- Nutritional information such as water intake and food data (calories, sugar, etc.)
- Sleep details including length and type
- Vitali such as blood sugar, body temperature and blood oxygen levels
You can check which apps have access to this data and share it by opening Health Connectby clicking on Data and access and then browse the data.
