investing.com — The past week has been a rollercoaster ride for markets globally. In the domestic market, the benchmark equity indices and witnessed 21-month lows and recovered a streak of 7-day consecutive lows the very next day.
Aided by the week’s heightened volatility, February 2022 witnessed the equity market capitalization of the BSE-listed companies tumble to its lowest value since July 2021.
The market cap of India’s top 10 heavyweights eroded by Rs 3.33 lakh crore in the past week.
The total equity m-cap in Feb 2022 stands at Rs 2,49,97,053.39 crore, down from Rs 2,64,41,207.18 crore in Jan 2022. The lowest value prior to this, was recorded in July 2021 at Rs 2,35,49,748.9 crore.
Listed below are market valuations shed by India’s top 10 companies in the past 5 sessions, as per PTI inputs.
- Reliance (NS:) Industries’ m-cap eroded Rs 94,828 crore to Rs 15.45 lakh crore.
- Tata Consultancy Services ‘ (NS:) valuation shed Rs 1.01 lakh crore to Rs 13.01 lakh crore.
- HDFC Bank’s (NS:) m-cap dropped 31,597.65 crore to Rs 8.06 lakh crore.
- Infosys (NS:) lost Rs Rs 5,501.34 crore valuation to Rs 7.12 lakh crore.
- ICICI Bank’s (NS:) valuation was erased by Rs 13,240.66 crore to Rs 5.07 lakh crore.
- HDFC’s (NS:) m-cap plunged Rs 6,929.03 crore to Rs 4.35 lakh crore.
- Hindustan Unilever ‘s (NS:) m-cap tanked Rs 33,235 crore to stand at Rs 5.09 lakh crore.
- SBI’s (NS:) lost Rs 29,094.2 crore of its m-cap at Rs 4.3 lakh crore.
- Bajaj Finance ‘s (NS:) m-cap shed Rs 13,318.2 crore to stand at Rs 3.78 lakh crore.
- Bharti Airtel ‘s (NS:) valuation declined Rs 13,318.2 crore to Rs 3.78 lakh crore.
