Honda is preparing something really very special. In fact, the automaker has announced that it will soon present the CR-V Hybrid Racer, an extreme track car that can count on 800 HP of power. For the occasion, the manufacturer has also shared some teasers that allow you to appreciate the first details of the car.
EXTREME
The starting point is that of the new Honda CR-V which has already made its debut in America. The details of this track car are, at the moment, very few. The teasers allow to understand that the CR-V Hybrid Racer will have particularly extreme aerodynamics. In fact, we can see the presence of a showy rear wing and a large extractor. Then there are aerodynamic appendices almost everywhere and the wheel arches have only been widened a great deal.
At first glance it seems that very little is left of the original CR-V. Thanks to the teasers we can also observe some details of the cockpit of this extreme car for the track. Unfortunately, we know nothing about the powertrain. It will certainly be a electrified motor but Honda didn’t want to anticipate any technical details. Full Hybrid or Plug-in? We’ll find out when we present that will be held on February 28.
Therefore, we won’t have to wait long to find out all the details of this car. It will also be interesting to understand the reason that prompted Honda to create this very high performance vehicle. The car could be a prototype used to demonstrate the potential of electrification or perhaps a laboratory in which to test technical solutions that will arrive, in the future, inside some electrified sports car.
The car was developed by engineers from Honda Performance Development, Auto Development Center and Honda’s American design center.
