Samsung recently announced a new application dedicated to the camera: it’s called “Camera Assistant” and joins those already included in the “Samsung Good Luck” range. The latter, for those who do not know, is a suite from the Korean brand that allows you to customize your device (such as the lock screen and audio settings), while also adding various advanced options.
In fact, “Camera Assistant” implements a series of settings and functions that further enrich the automatic shooting modes of the Samsung camera app. Specifically, the new software will allow you to activate or deactivate automatic HDR as well as smooth the sharp edges and textures of a photo. Furthermore, it is present the possibility of automatically switching from one photographic sensor to another based on zoom, lighting and other factors. Among other things, it will be possible to start a video recording directly from the photo mode: it will be enough to hold down the shutter button.
Particular attention, then, was given to the battery. In fact, there is an option that disables the camera if it is not used for more than 2 minutes.
Finally, certainly among the most interesting changes the increase in shutter speed in automatic mode is included which, among other things, will also allow the reduction of the blur effect that occurs when photographing moving subjects. However, there may be a limitation in this regard: Samsung, in fact, has stated that using this function could decrease the quality of the images.
As for availability, “Camera Assistant” will be available exclusively on Galaxy S22 series smartphones with Android 13 and One UI 5.0. The Korean brand, however, added that it is already working to expand its compatibility to other models. For those wishing to try the new app, just go to the Galaxy Store and download.
