Hyundai Ioniq 5: a journey dedicated to sustainability
The test was carried out with Model Year 2022. However, those who buy Ioniq 5 currently receive one Model Year 2023which brings few but significant improvements, namely:
- The battery goes from 72.6 kWh to 77.4 kWh further increasing autonomy (up to 507 km in the rear-wheel drive version)

Ioniq 5 based on a cutting-edge design which draws inspiration from the bold character of the electric concept 45, and is distinguished by clean and sharp lines, in a simple stylistic language that emphasizes the silent movement of the model. The interior of Ioniq 5, on the other hand, are designed according to the concept of Smart Living Space to increase comfort and usability, as demonstrated by the Universal Islanda movable center console that can slide back and forth up to 140mm.
The long wheelbase (3,000 mm) The Ioniq 5 also offers the spaciousness of a D-segment car in a medium-sized crossover. The electrically adjustable front seats can be fully reclined for greater comfort and relaxation; while the flat floor allows greater usability of the interior spaces. On the Ioniq 5 you can find seat and armrest covers made from sustainable sources, such as recycled plastic bottles and wool or leather treated with vegetable oils; polyurethane paint derived from vegetable oils applied to the doors; and door trim panels made of ducklings: a recyclable material, similar to paper, which represents an absolute novelty in the automotive sector. With differences depending on the finishes, Ioniq 5 is also available with mats produced in Econyla regenerated nylon yarn made from recycled fishing nets and other waste recovered from the sea.
The technology is also very interesting Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), which allows users to freely use or recharge any electrical device even away from home. V2L allows the vehicle to operate other electrical equipment (110 / 220V)wherever you are, delivering up to 3.6 kW of power. For example, part of the lights that illuminated the glamping were powered directly by one of the Ioniq 5 made available for the event.
With the Ioniq 5, customers can choose between two traction configurations: one with a single rear engine or one with two engines, one front and one rear. The one present at the event was the version with double engine (4WD) with over 300CV and 605Nm of torque.

Ioniq 5 the first Hyundai model based on the company’s modular platform dedicated to battery electric vehicles, Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). The platform thanks to800V architecture it allows a faster recharging capacity and greater autonomy. In fact, it recharges from 10 to 18% in just 18 minutes with ultra-fast 350 kW columns and guarantees aautonomy up to 507 km with a single charge (77.4 kWh 2WD version, according to the WLTP standard).
In addition, it will also be based on E-GMP Ioniq 6which will make its debut on the European market at the beginning of 2023, while in 2024 it will be the turn of the Ioniq 7 SUV, anticipated by the innovative concept Hyundai SEVEN.
