IIM Tiruchirappalli wishes to provide hands on training to qualified Library and Information
Sciences postgraduates to help them find a career in the libraries of larger institutes. Toward this
endeavor it invites applications for Library trainee (1 no.) for a period of one year. A stipend of
Rs.20,000/- per month (consolidated) will be given to each selected trainee during the period.
Minimum eligibility criteria for this position are Master’s Degree in Library and
Information Science. Knowledge of computer is essential. A previous working experience is
desirable. Age limit: Upto 28 years. Selection would be through written test followed by
interview. Interested candidates are requested to apply in the prescribed format along with
relevant supporting documents.

INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES
 Candidates holding Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from any
recognized University may apply. Knowledge of computer is essential. Previous working
experience in library is desirable.
 Age limit: Upto 28 years (as on 22nd May 2023). Relaxation as per Govt. rules for SC/ST
and other special categories.
 Candidates should work for six days in a week on a rotation basis and on a weekly one day
off basis. Candidate should be ready to work in shift basis.

 The selected candidates are eligible for a monthly stipend of Rs.20,000/- per month
(consolidated) during the training period. No other allowances are admissible.
 Shortlisted candidates will be called for the written test followed by an interview. NO
TA/DA will be given to attend the selection process.
 Completed application form along with photocopies of Certificates, Mark Lists of all
Semesters, Degree / Provisional Certificate, should be sent to the “Chief Administrative
Officer I/c., Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli, Pudukkottai Main
Road, Chinna Sooriyur Village, Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu – 620024” by Speed post.
 Incomplete applications, applications not submitted in the prescribed form, applications
received through email, applications received after the due date and those not accompanied
by copies of certificates for minimum qualifications, mark lists of all semesters in
qualifying examination and degree certificate will be summarily rejected.
 No accommodation or any other facilities are admissible during the training period.
 This offer is for one year only. The appointment is purely temporary and will not be extended
under any circumstances.
 Institute reserves the right to terminate trainee any time without any assigning reason.
 Institute reserves the right to select or reject the candidates for training programme
advertised and mere fulfillment of qualifications laid down does not entitle a candidate to
be called for test.
 No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from candidates regarding postal
delays, conducting and result of test / interview and reasons for not being called for test.
 Institute reserves the right to relax the minimum qualifications if found suitable otherwise.
Institute decision will be final in this regard.
 The last date for receipt of completed application form is 15th June 2023.
