In Affi construction has started of the largest Italian IONITY charging station. The project was presented at the end of June and, now, work has finally started. Once completed, inside it will be there are 18 columns of 350 kW, all powered by renewable energy. The station project also includes the construction of a photovoltaic shelter system. The energy produced will be used to recharge the cars. In addition, the shelters will also make it possible to protect the cars from the elements during the supply of energy.
Two of the 18 recharging points will be dedicated to the full energy of electric commercial vehicles. Affi’s project is part of the IONITY 2.0 phase announced by the company in November 2021 and which expects by 2025 to build 600 additional stations in Europe with an average of 6-12 charging points per station, thus exceeding 1,000 units and guaranteeing therefore an increase of the recharging points of more than four times, from about 1,700 to 7,000 points.
The new IONITY station in Affi will be built at i car parks in the shopping center in Via Pascoli.
